They are trained in how to evaluate, diagnose, recommend and deliver a treatment plan that manages issues within these systems, according to your preferences. A chiropractor’s education also includes courses in radiology, pain management, prescribed exercise and rehabilitation, among others.
Every chiropractor is uniquely qualified to evaluate your condition and identify what’s causing your pain.
Based on the best available evidence, combined with their clinical expertise, your chiropractor will then work with you to determine the best treatment to relieve your pain. They will also help prevent it from returning and restore your mobility.

Some of the conditions chiropractors treat include:

Back pain
Neck pain
Strains
Sprains
Pain associated with arthritis
Work and sports injuries

Manual osteopathy is a system of health care that focuses on osteopathic diagnosis and treatment of the physical body’s structure in order to optimise physiological functioning. Manual palpation and Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) are used in conjunction with biomechanical, orthopaedic and neurological clinical assessment.

Manual osteopathy is best known for treatment of neuro-musculo-skeletal disorders such as back and neck pain, sciatica, sporting injuries and postural strain. Put simply, optimizing structural balance allows the physiology to perform optimally.

The practice of manual osteopathy combines current medical knowledge with the osteopathic philosophy. Scientific plausibility and evidence-based outcomes have a high priority in patient treatment and case management. Manual osteopathy is a patient centred approach to health care.

Heather E. Tomar, RD holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Michigan State University and completed a year-long Accredited Dietetic Internship. She holds the protected title of Registered Dietitian in Ontario and Michigan. Heather has over 25 years-experience working with clients in a multidisciplinary Family Practice meeting with individual clients and/or their families. Heather has provided Worksite Wellness and Health Promotion doing customized Nutrition Education presentations to large and small groups. Heather also had a monthly radio spot called Nutrition Nook for over 5 years. Most recently she worked as Lead RD at North York Family Health Team in Toronto, ON.

Because of her years of experience in nutrition behaviour change counseling, Heather knows how to work with clients to help them stay motivated and achieve their optimal nutritional health through a client-centered approach using current, evidence-based nutrition information and coaching strategies.

Heather believes that nutrition is one of the foundations of good health and wellbeing. Balanced nutrition and a healthy relationship with food can set the stage for optimal health.

Heather knows that nutritional needs change throughout a persons life based on age, disease states, other stressors and heredity. She is passionate about helping people live a healthier lifestyle through “gentle nutrition” and knows that restrictive diet rules will not be sustainable over time. Every-body is different and nutritional needs vary from one person to the next so Heather offer customized nutrition plans.

In addition, by shifting focus away from the scale and toward how a person feels, a non-diet approach can help heal a person’s strained relationship with food and their body. She believes that people can be healthy at every size and that weight is not a determining factor of overall health. If a person can make sustainable changes over time, they can achieve a healthy body weight vs a number on a chart.

Heather’s area of Specialty include:

• Irritable Bowel Syndrome/Low FODMAPS

• Anti-Inflammatory Eating

• Women’s Midlife Nutrition

• Cardiovascular Wellness

• Type 2 Diabetes

• Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size
